Pro-bono Legal Services
The need of legal services among the poor is overwhelming. According to an American Bar Association Study, at least 40% of low and moderate-income households experience a legal problem each year.Yet studies show that the collective civil legal aid effort is meeting only about 20% of the legal needs of low-income people and that percentage drops significantly in the immigrant communities. Now more than ever, it is important for us to support our most vulnerable communities. Since 1992, KCSC has provided free legal service in partnership with the Korean American Bar Association of Washington (KABA) for low-income and under-served members of the community.Twenty six years of free legal service wouldn't be possible without the immense efforts of volunteer lawyersas well as coordinators of each organizations to facilitate the work. Together in collaboration between KCSC and KABA, we are proud that we have served over thousands of members of the community over the years and will continue to serve for many years to come.
